Academic Success Center
The Academic Success Center provides tutoring services to South Louisiana Community College students. The Academic Success Center offers one-on-one and group tutoring to students in subjects ranging from Reading and Writing to Math and Science. The Academic Success Center has two locations – one on the Lafayette campus and another in New Iberia – for students’ convenience. There are computer labs and printers at both locations for student use.
In addition to one-on-one tutoring, the Academic Success Center’s instructional assistants can help students enroll in and utilize various on-line tutoring services, including PLATO and Smarthinking. The Academic Success Center also works closely with faculty members in order to develop and implement programs that will help students achieve their academic goals.
Tutoring in the Academic Success Center is available through both walk-ins and setting up an appointment. To set up an appointment, just stop by room 128 in the library or give us a call at (337) 521-8961. When attending a tutoring session, make sure you bring your course materials, assignment sheets and other class handouts, specific questions, and, most importantly, a good attitude and an open mind.
