Articulation
Transfer
Agreements
The
General Studies degree is used for students seeking to transfer to a
variety of other four-year degrees. SLCC also participates in the
statewide transfer program administered by the Board of Regents which
provides transfer matrices for general education courses, business
courses, and natural science courses. This matrix lists the equivalent
courses offered by all public higher education institutions in the
State. Students have access to the matrix through on-line resources at
http://www.regents. la.gov/.
SLCC also
provides educational services to its students through cooperative
endeavors and articulation agreements with four-year universities in the
State. Cooperative endeavors have been established with the University
of Louisiana at Lafayette for two SLCC Associate degree programs: the
Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, and the Associate of Science
in Industrial Technology.
Additional articulation agreements include the Associate of General
Studies degree with a concentration in Business Studies at SLCC and the
Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management at
UL-Lafayette and 2+2 sequences for each major in the Business
Administration degree at UL-Lafayette, with students completing the SLCC
sequence earning an Associate of General Studies degree with a
concentration in Business Studies from SLCC. Students completing the
UL-Lafayette sequence would earn a Bachelor of Science degree in
Business Administration with a major in one of the identified
disciplines of the program.
Transfer
agreements with Northwestern State University in the areas of Emergency
Medical Technology and Criminal Justice allow students to transfer
into the Unified Public Safety bachelor’s degree.
