4.6 Recruitment Materials
|
4.6 Recruitment Materials Recruitment materials and presentations accurately represent the institution’s practices and policies.
Narrative: |
South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) maintains a general recruitment brochure (1) which provides an overview of the College's degree programs as well as program recruitment brochures (2) for its individual degree program areas. Brochure content is consistent with information found in the Catalog (3) and is intended to inform prospective students regarding degree requirements and associated costs of attending SLCC. Prior to printing brochures and related promotional materials, appropriate faculty and staff participate in a development and review process. To formally document this review process a procedural guide "Development and Review of College Recruitment Materials: Procedural Guidelines" (4) has been developed. The Guidelines clearly delineate the review cycle (each semester) and prescribe the review process to ensure appropriate involvement of faculty, the College's curriculum committee, and administrative personnel in the instructional, student services, and business areas. The Development and Review of College Recruitment Materials Procedural Guidelines states:
The review process includes discussion and recommendations from appropriate College staff (instruction, student services, business office, and administration). At the instructional level academic brochures are first reviewed by the faculty Program Coordinators of each program along with the Instructional Dean. Changes in current programs that would necessitate edit/correction are directed to the Curriculum Committee for approval/endorsement. Following Curriculum Committee discussion, actions are forwarded to the Instructional Dean who through the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs brings changes forward to the Chancellor’s Cabinet.
The Chancellor’s Cabinet (which includes College leadership from instruction, student services, business services, and administration) through its review/approval signoff is accountable for ensuring that institutional practices and policies reflected are accurate and current. It is further the responsibility of members of the Chancellor’s Cabinet that the information contained is consistently reflected in other College materials prepared by their areas for distribution to students and the general public.
The College complies with the procedural guidelines (5) in the review and printing of College brochures.
