Narrative:
South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) provides services supporting its mission with qualified personnel to ensure the quality and effectiveness of its student affairs programs. Services and programs are offered by the College under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs and the Dean of Students (1) . Each sub-unit within this division (Admissions, Testing, Advising Services, Counseling Services, Disability Services, Financial Aid and Registrar) links its goals and objectives to the mission.
The college utilizes student surveys including CCSSE, ACT-SOS, orientation surveys, graduation exit surveys, and the Annual Performance Report on Institutional Effectiveness to evaluate student support services.

Student Support Services include the Offices of the Registrar, Financial Aid, Counseling, Advising, Testing, Career Center, Disability Services, and Student Organizations. The Registrar’s Office consists of the Registrar, an Assistant to the Registrar on the Lafayette Campus, an Assistant to the Registrar on the New Iberia Campus, and two administrative assistants. The Financial Aid Office consists of the Director of Financial Aid, a Financial Aid Advisor, and a Financial Aid Assistant. The Counseling staff has three full time counselors and one part time counselor. There are five full time advisors. Testing is completed by the counselors and advisors. The Career Center has a part time Career Center Advisor. Disability Services are facilitated by one of the counselors. Student Organizations are overseen by individuals who may be staff or faculty. The Dean of Student Services oversees all student services activities. All staff members are evaluated annually. All staff members possess the qualifications to ensure quality and effectiveness of College programs.
Training and professional growth are provided for student services personnel through both on-site activities and conference or workshop participation.
