Narrative:

South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) program changes are initiated through various means including, but not limited to, student learning outcome trend analysis, advisory committee recommendations, business and industry recommendations, university articulations, and state initiatives. No matter where the impetus begins for an additional course or program, the faculty especially through Program Coordinators review changes to curriculum.  The faculty then submits the program approval forms to the Curriculum Committee.  Upon Curriculum Committee approval, the Dean of Instruction and Effectiveness, and then the Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs act upon the recommendations.  If necessary, once these steps are completed, the process may continue for approval from the Louisiana Community and Technical College System Board of Supervisors (LCTCS) Board of Supervisors, Louisiana Board of Regents for Higher Education, etc.  When all approvals are completed, the documentation is presented to the Registrar to begin the implementation.
